Online Housing Application

Thank you for your interest in the Inter-Cooperative Council at the University of Michigan (ICC for short)! Our Mission is to provide a home for students that equally embodies quality living, community and social equality, all within the cooperative movement.

Because we are more than your standard living experience, the ICC has a multi-part process to becoming a member. If you are a new member, we ask for your help by taking time to read each step carefully before clicking on the Application Button below, so we can process all inquires and applications in a timely manner. Please contact us at any time if you have a question after reading a step.

Before You Apply

Application Steps (New Members)

  1. Complete the ICC Application.
  2. Read and sign the Rights and Responsibilities Form.
    • You do not need to request this form, it will be emailed to you when your application has been processed.
  3. Complete the Housing Preferences Form.
  4. Read your Housing Assignments email

Contract Signing Steps

  • Current Members
    • Complete a new Housing Preference form
    • Current members will have an ICC contract emailed to them, unless their balance is greater than $250 and they are not on a payment plan.
  • Past Returning Members
    • Complete a new Housing Preference form
    • Past returning members will have an ICC contract emailed to them if they have uploaded proof of student status. They must have a $0 balance. Member Shares may need to be purchased again.
  • New Members
    • New members signing for the future Fall/winter contract period must schedule a Contract signing appointment; all other contract periods will not require a contract signing appointment.  Appointments will be in person, except for extenuating circumstances. In those rare cases, the appointments will be via Zoom.
    • New members will have two weeks to schedule an appointment and sign their contract, or they will lose their seniority date.
    • The appointment will cover the following:
      • Review the ICC contract and costs (shares, fees, monthly charges)
      • New Member Orientation Part one (life in a co-op) video and Q&A
      • Signing the contract and paying shares and membership fee.

ICC Applications
