SMART: Zoning Work Update

Size Management and Restructuring Team (SMART) has an update on zoning reform.

When we previously met with City Planning Staff, they requested that we provide specific materials to assist in our ongoing discussions about what reforms can be made to the UDC. Tonight, I’ll be sending the following materials to the Planning Department:

• ICC Property Info (nonconformance is highlighted red)
• Zoning Research (brief history of Student Co-op Zoning in Ann Arbor and Student Co-op Zoning in other cities)
• Specific List of Asks
• University Neighborhood Overlay Zoning District Ordinance (example ordinance from Austin, TX; aggregates fee in lieu money to support affordable student housing)
