UM Dorm move-in schedule:

• Michigan move-in dates are August 20-24, 2025. We do not have specific street closure dates, so plan accordingly.

Furniture

Furniture Provided for Each Room

• Twin XL Bed Set:
  • wood bed-frame w/ mattress or
  • metal bed-frame w/ box-spring & mattress
• Dresser
• Desk
• Chair

Please note that while you are welcome to personalize your space, you are not allowed to replace any of the provided furniture unless you have medical exemption. Any damage to the furniture beyond normal wear and tear could result in fines, so please be sure to care for your room and its contents!

Parking

Parking availability and rules are specific to each house, so please refer to your house’s constitution for any information regarding parking.

Expectations and first days living in your house

Remember that co-ops thrive when everyone is considerate, respectful and kind towards each other! A few simple reminders to make your first days welcoming.

• Moving in can be hectic, but please be mindful of your housemates. Keep noise to a minimum, especially during early or late hours. 
• Clean up after yourself! Work assignments may be temporary, but you can still be co-operative and clean. 
• Don’t forget to greet those around you, a simple “hello” can go a long way!
• House prepared dinners may not start immediately, but you should have food available to prepare all your meals. Speak to your house president if you have questions.
