Staff & CoCo

Hi! I’m Ari and I am a Junior at UofM studying Neuroscience and Spanish on the premed track. Since joining the ICC in 2024, my passion for fostering equity, communication and collaboration has flourished. Serving as my house’s Kitchen Manager and a member assistant on FinCom, motivated me to take on the Vice President of Operations position. I’m looking forward to spending the year improving the operational functioning of the ICC and working together to create a more sustainable, equitable and cooperative future. 

Audrey got started in maintenance work while living in the ICC from 2006-2010 at Nakamura and King Houses. From there, Audrey worked for the University of Michigan Library as a facilities coordinator handling space planning, office moves, renovations, signage and special projects.  Audrey is delighted to be back in the co-op system working on house improvement projects, preparing for housing inspections, addressing RFA’s, and assisting maintenance managers.

Brian’s experience includes managing, developing, consulting, and lobbying on behalf of housing cooperatives during his time with The Cooperation Group, Collective Seeds Consulting Cooperative, University of Texas Inter-Cooperative Council and Austin Cooperative Business Association.  He has been work to promote and develop cooperatives and democracy for the last 20 years.  Brian has served on the board of directors for NASCO, Campus Cooperative Development Corporation.  He serves as a trustee at the Kagawa Fund and has been the chair since 2012.

For 22 years, Dan Edwards was the lead carpenter for Clark Home Improvement, a company contracted by the ICC to do major projects such as siding and window replacements. So, although, Dan was formally hired by the ICC in 2012 as a Maintenance Technician, he had actually been working on ICC houses since 2002! While at his previous job, Dan was lead carpenter on major ICC siding projects at King, Ruths’, Lester, Linder and Debs. He also helped to replace windows at Truth and Escher. Now, as an ICC Maintenance Tech, he tackles smaller remodeling jobs and all types of maintenance issues facing our houses.

Deric managed a painting crew for 12 years before joining the ICC as a Maintenance Technician in 2016.  Deric is our resident expert in painting, drywall, and various other skills. He tackles a variety of maintenance issues and projects in our homes and takes pride in continually improving our facilities.

Elliot is a long-time ICC member, living at Luther House 2021-2024, Linder House 2024-25, and King House 2025-27. Elliot has served as house treasurer at all three houses he’s lived at, Luther house president in 2022-23, and VP of Finance in 2023-24. As Finance Department Liaison, Elliot advises the Finance Committee (FinCom) on scholarships, budgeting, financial reporting, and financial policy, collaborates with the housing department with the posting of charges, and assists other departments with internal budgeting and reporting.

Geoff is an alum of MichMinnie’s Cooperative, a former maintenance manager, board rep, and house president.  He joined the ICC maintenance staff in 2005 and now serves as director.  Geoff’s responsibilities include managing house renovations from large to small. Geoff trains and assists houses in maintaining and improving their homes by conducting skill training sessions and working with members to solve specific house issues. Geoff works with staff and contractors to address more technical projects and with city inspectors to ensure we stay up to housing code. Geoff is also responsible for the development of the ICC Maintenance website and its contents.

Kyle is a long-term member of the ICC, living in Owen from 2017 until 2021 and in Baker from 2021 to the present. As the Accounts Payable Coordinator, he supports House Treasurers in managing the House accounts across all 16 cooperative houses and works with the VP of Finance and the Director of Finance to develop Treasurer training. He also processes all Share Return Forms and manages the House food accounts payable as well as house credit card accounts and applies fines and fees as assessed by house treasurers.

Lenny (they/them) lived at Black Elk House from 2015-2017, reigning as House President and Board Representative while additionally holding nearly every house officer position at least once (also, check out their mural in the BE mailroom!). After leaving Black Elk and moving to Ypsi, they’ve worked at the ICC as a temp Spring/Summer Housing Coordinator in 2017 and moved from part-time to full-time staff as Housing Coordinator from 2019-2022. In their current role, Lenny at a glance manages ICC guff resources. This catch-all role includes management of harm reduction supplies, merchandise creation (we are now screenprinting in house!), annual Co-op Spring Break trips, office chocolate, Education Center bookings, and guff truck usage; they also advise the Marketing Committee, sit on the Emergency House Operations Team (EHOT), offer mediation and conflict resolution facilitation, continuously encourage political education & outreach efforts for members and staff, assist with house re-theming efforts (such as the shift from Lester to Johnson-Rivera House) and work alongside other staff in GuffBA (bulk ordering) efforts. Name a project and Lenny is probably involved in some way!

In 2025 Lenny and their wife, Alyssa, welcomed their first child, Milo, to their family.

Libbie was born and raised in Ann Arbor and has been involved in coops since birth.  In addition to boarding and living at Nakamura in the 1990s, Libbie probably holds the record for the second youngest person to ever attend a Xanadu Coop Halloween Party (blame her father, Luther Buchele).  Libbie worked for the federal government for 20 years in health policy (Medicaid and Long-term care) as well as in the federal operations support area, including budgeting, contracting, employee engagement, and human resources.  She has also managed a community health center for low income and uninsured patients, worked in France at the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, and has had brief stints working at a union as well as innumerable political campaigns.  She is fluent in Spanish and French, and may break out into showtunes without warning.
