Dear Scholarship Applicant,

Document Uploads. To assist in the efficiency of completing applications, all upload fields are required. There are no exceptions. All questions regarding document uploads may be directed to the Finance Committee via vp.finance@icc.coop

Final Decision. All award decisions will be made by the Finance Committee. All recipients will be notified by email shortly thereafter. All questions regarding final decision may be directed to the Finance Committee via vp.finance@icc.coop

If you have a concern regarding a finance or scholarship policy or decision, or you have a special circumstance for us to consider, you may follow the appeal procedures below:

Present your situation to the VP for Finance. All options for resolving the situation should be explored with the VP before moving to the next step. If the situation cannot be resolved, the VP will determine the course to take in Step Two.
One of the following actions will be taken:
- Your situation will be presented by the VP for Finance to the Finance Committee. This occurs when unusual circumstances are presented that may require exceptions to standard finance or scholarship policies or procedures.
- You may complete an appeal form and schedule an appointment to discuss your circumstances with the Finance Committee. This occurs when unusual circumstances do not exist but a Finance Committee policy is questioned, or when a student is not satisfied with a policy as explained by the VP for Finance.
If, after completing Step 2, you feel the situation warrants further consideration, you may ask for a review and consultation with the Board of Directors.

Class Schedule*

Official Financial Aid Notice from your university.*

For UM Students:

If you are taking spring/summer classes, please upload the award notice for this term. Otherwise, please upload your most recent award notice. On Wolverine Access, go to Financial Aid Information >> Applicable Aid Year >> Award Notices, and you should see an "Official Award Notice" for Spring/Summer. Please upload the official PDF by clicking View/Print, then pressing control + P (or command + P on Mac) and selecting Save as PDF under 'Destination'.

FOR EMU STUDENTS:

Go to my.emich.edu >> Click on the Financial Aid Tab >> Click Award >> Select Aid Year (pick applicable Aid Year) >> Click Award Overview Tab. Please upload a screenshot of the entire webpage.

FOR OTHER STUDENTS:

Submit an official financial aid notice from your university that states your tuition as well as any scholarships or grants you may receive.

Note:< If you have not received your official financial aid letter for the spring/summer term, please provide your most recent financial aid award letter. The Finance Committee asks that you submit your spring/summer letter as soon as you receive it.

Your most recent pay stub*

If you have been employed in the past 3 months, please provide your most recent paystub. If you are planning to find new/different employment or work additional hours over the spring/summer term, please include your expected hours per week, wage, and start date (these can be updated to the actual values once employment is secured). If you are currently unemployed and not planning to be employed during the duration of your scholarship (May 2025-August 2025), please submit a small additional cover letter explaining the status of your employment or ability to be employed. We do not accept W-2s.

If you are receiving financial support from your guardian(s), you must provide the following:

A letter from your guardian detailing the financial support given is required to complete your application. This needs to be emailed to vp.finance@icc.coop and come directly from your guardian.

This includes if they do not give you any financial assistance.

If you are not receiving financial support from anyone (including but not limited to parents, guardians, partners, or additional scholarships) please prove that with documentation. Some examples may include

a letter from your guardian(s) stating such or
your SAI from the 2025-26 FAFSA form.

FAFSA SAI or Relevant Documentation*

Please upload a screenshot of your FAFSA SAI (this can be accessed on studentaid.gov by accessing your submission summary). If you are an international student, please submit your I-20 form along with any student loan documentation. If you are in a situation where you either cannot access the FAFSA form or there are extenuating circumstances that you would like to make FinCom aware of, please include a summary of all relevant information. The VP of Finance may reach out for additional information if needed to make an informed decision about your application.

Guardian Letter & Outside Support

Please have your parent or guardian email VP.Finance@icc.coop with an explanation of any support they plan to provide during this period (May-August). The subject line should be something along the lines of "[Applicant Name] Guardian Letter for ICC Scholarship" (where [Applicant Name] is your name). If you receive support from other sources (e.g. non-university grants or assistance from other family members), please upload documentation of that here as well. If you do not have contact with your parents, please upload a document explaining that. If you have any questions or concerns with this requirement, please reach out to VP.Finance@icc.coop.

**ATTENTION**

Your documentation must reflect your ability to pay your full tuition and all ICC charges. Please use the Text Box below to verify the total amount of tuition and charges for the scholarship period (May-August) and how it will be paid for. All of your claims must be backed up by the documentation you’ve already submitted. If you cannot prove your claims, the Finance Committee can not consider them.

Example 1: For this Spring and Summer, the total cost of my tuition is $14,000 (see Financial Aid Letter). The total cost of my charges are $3200 because I live in Gregory House. My parents pay for my rent in full (see Guardian Letter). $10,500 is covered by scholarships (see Financial Aid Letter). $4,000 is covered by my loans (see Financial Aid Letter). $1,700 is paid for by my job (see Pay Stub). $1,000 is paid for by guardians (see Guardian Letter).

Example 2: For this Spring and Summer, the total cost of my tuition is $0 since I am not taking classes. My charges are $3600 since I live at Luther house. $3,000 will be paid for with income from my job (see Pay Stub). The remaining $500 will be paid for with leftover money from student loans from last year.
