The ICC appreciates any and all donations! Our biggest priorities currently are scholarships and major maintenance/capital investment.

Our MLK Scholarship Fund supports the MLK scholarship and Bridge scholarship. The MLK scholarship is a monthly award for members who are students with financial need, and the Bridge scholarship is a one-time award for members experiencing a period of financial hardship, due to job loss, medical costs, or other reasons. In 2024-25, the ICC awarded $73,807 to members in MLK and Bridge scholarships, with $35,000 of that coming from current members contributing through their monthly charges and the remainder coming from the endowment fund.

Major maintenance donations will go to our Capital Investment Reserve, to be used for major renovations at our houses and large critical maintenance projects. The City of Ann Arbor recently passed the Green Rental Housing Ordinance with the goal of reducing utility usage and improving sustainability in Ann Arbor rental properties. We are lucky that we already do many of the requirements, however, to reach full compliance we'll need significant funds to improve insulation, get more efficient appliances, and potentially install central AC to improve habitability in the summertime as the climate gets warmer. About a third of monthly member charges go towards major maintenance projects each year - we hope to be able to supplement that with donations to catch up on deferred maintenance while improving our houses.
